Stonebridge is a gated, residential and equestrian community set on a blufftop mesa in the westernmost part of Rancho Santa Fe, made up of just 2 streets—Stonebridge Lane and Stonebridge Court. The community was developed by Kirn-Atkinson Development, beginning in the mid-1980s and continuing through the 1990s, as a roughly 75-acre subdivision divided into approximately 25 custom estate lots, the majority of which are built recently. Architectural styles vary widely from Mediterranean and Spanish Colonial to more contemporary designs, and a number of estates have been extensively remodeled or rebuilt in recent years. Homes typically offer 3-7 bedrooms, with living space ranging from roughly 3,050 to over 9,000 square feet, set on lots consistently sized around 2.87-2.9 acres. Many properties, particularly those on the western edge of the mesa, enjoy sweeping views over the San Elijo Lagoon toward the Pacific Ocean.
Stonebridge sits directly adjacent to the 1,000-acre San Elijo Lagoon Ecological Reserve, and residents have private trail access from the community down onto the reserve. The neighborhood is also equestrian-friendly, with several lots zoned for horses and direct trail access into the broader 35 mile Rancho Santa Fe riding and hiking trail system. For everyday shopping and dining, the Village of Rancho Santa Fe is just a few minutes away, home to longtime favorite Mille Fleurs along with boutiques and galleries, while Flower Hill Promenade in Del Mar and the Cedros Design District in Solana Beach add further restaurant and retail options nearby. The beach is close by Rancho Santa Fe standards, Fletcher Cove in Solana Beach is about a 10-minute drive. And I-5 is only minutes away via El Camino Real, keeping the community well connected despite its secluded feel. Students in Stonebridge fall within the Solana Beach School District and the San Dieguito Union High School District, typically attending Skyline Elementary, Earl Warren Middle School, and top-rated Torrey Pines High School, with Canyon Crest Academy and San Dieguito Academy available as additional options.
Stonebridge is governed by a small HOA that maintains the gated entrance, private roads, and common landscaping. Association dues is around $996 per month. Stonebridge’s current home pricing is roughly $3.5M for original-condition estates and up to $7M or more for rebuilt or extensively renovated homes.
