Tuscan Estates is a gated community of 9 custom estate homes gated off El Apajo, south of Via de Santa Fe and just west of Fairbanks Ranch, in the heart of Rancho Santa Fe. The community was built out in the mid-2000s by custom builder Jim Sylvester of Sylvester Construction, whose signature Tuscan and Mediterranean-inspired architecture defines the enclave — stone and stucco exteriors, tile roofs, courtyard entries, and hand-crafted detailing throughout. Because every residence was custom-designed rather than built from a production plan, there are no named floor plans or models to choose from; homes vary widely from one another, generally ranging from roughly 9,300 to nearly 22,000 square feet, with 6-10+ bedrooms and proportionally large bathroom counts, set on lots as large as 5 acres.
Shopping and dining at Fairbanks Village Plaza are within walking distance, and the boutiques, cafés, and restaurants of the Rancho Santa Fe Village are just minutes away. Via de la Valle offers a quick, direct route to Interstate 5, putting the beaches of Del Mar and Solana Beach less than 7 miles from Tuscan Estates. Families in the community are zoned for the Rancho Santa Fe Elementary School District, students then continue on to Torrey Pines High School in the San Dieguito Union High School District.
