Del Mar Mesa is a semi-rural residential community of 2,042 acres located in the Carmel Valley area of northern San Diego, California. The majority of the community was developed in the 2000s. The minimum lot size is a half acre. The Del Mar Mesa area boasts over 900 acres of protected space called the Del Mar Mesa Preserve. The Preserve is part of the City of San Diego’s Multiple Species Habitat Area. Del Mar Mesa also has 10 miles of hiking, biking and walking trails.
