Cielo is a 24-hour guard-gated hillside community of approximately 528 custom estate homes spread across roughly 1,740 acres, with about 60% of the community preserved as open space, on the north side of Del Dios Highway near Calle Ambiente in the Rancho Santa Fe area of San Diego. Streets within the community include Via Rancho Cielo, Via Ambiente, Camino De Arriba, Camino De La Mitra, La Amapola, El Brazo, El Cielo, El Cielito, and Calle Amanacer. Homes in Cielo were built starting in 2001, and construction is still ongoing on some of the remaining custom lots today. Home exterior here is a mix of styles, from Tuscan and Mediterranean to Spanish Modern and contemporary, largely inspired by the coastal villages of the northern Mediterranean. Floor area is around 3,467-12,000+ square feet with 3-9 bedrooms, and lot sizes range from roughly 9,300 square feet up to 7 acres or more, with many homesites offering panoramic ocean, mountain, and canyon views from one of the highest elevations in coastal San Diego County.
Residents of Cielo enjoy resort-style amenities centered around the roughly 8,000 square-foot Cielo Club, which includes event lounges, a catering kitchen, meeting rooms, a fitness center, and spa facilities, along with a competition-sized pool, a children’s wading pool, tennis and pickleball courts, a shaded pavilion with gas grills, a playground, parks, and miles of scenic walking trails; some phases of the community also have access to the separate Montagna Club, which adds its own pool area, open-air pavilion, and tennis courts. A roughly 50,000 square-foot commercial center known as Cielo Village sits adjacent to the community entrance for everyday shopping and dining, and the boutique shops and restaurants of downtown Rancho Santa Fe are just a short drive away. Del Dios Highway provides convenient access to I-15 and the coastal routes into Del Mar, Solana Beach, and Encinitas, with the beaches of Cardiff and Solana Beach roughly 10-12 miles from Cielo. Families in Cielo are zoned for the highly regarded Rancho Santa Fe School District: R. Roger Rowe Elementary and R. Roger Rowe Middle—followed by Torrey Pines High School in the San Dieguito Union High School District.
Cielo is governed by a mandatory HOA with monthly dues in the range of roughly $780-$790. Home prices in Cielo generally start in the mid-$3M range and extend past $8.8M for the community’s largest estates.
