Hacienda Santa Fe is a neighborhood on the eastern side of ‘The Ranch’ in Rancho Santa Fe, California, roughly 2 miles east of the Village of Rancho Santa Fe. The community sits along Del Dios Highway, which runs its northern border, and is bordered west by Rancho Del Rio, east by the Covenant, and south by The Summit. Streets within the community include Via Cuatro Caminos, Via Del Bravo, La Soldadera, Luna De Miel, and El Caporal, among other private lanes and cul-de-sacs. Spread across roughly 195 acres, Hacienda Santa Fe is made up of about 134 single-family, custom-built homes, most constructed between 1977 and 1987, with a handful of newer builds and extensive remodels added. Each residence was individually designed, and most draw on Mediterranean and Spanish hacienda-style architecture with tile roofs, courtyards, and stucco exteriors. The community itself is not gated, though many individual homes have their own private gated driveways for added privacy. Homes generally range from about 2,018-11,300 square feet with 3-7 bedrooms, sitting on lots that run from roughly 1 acre up to nearly 4 acres.

The neighborhood’s eastern location also makes it convenient for commuters, with reasonably quick access west toward Interstate 5 via Via de la Valle and El Camino Real, and east toward Interstate 15 via Del Dios Highway/Escondido. Families in Hacienda Santa Fe are served by the Solana Beach School District, which includes Solana Santa Fe Elementary and the San Dieguito Union High School District, covering Earl Warren Middle School and Torrey Pines High School, with lottery-based enrollment options at Canyon Crest Academy and San Dieguito High Academy.
