Senterra is a gated enclave in Rancho Santa Fe. The community’s interior streets include Via Baroda, Via Avante, Calle Cardenas, Vista Del Dios, Via Grandar, and Avenida Cantaria, with the neighborhood positioned south of San Dieguito Road near Derby Farms Road as one of the 3 “Villages of Fairbanks” (alongside Montecito and Stratford). Senterra was built by Ray Watt and designed by architect Ross Sutherland, with construction running from 1986-1990. Today it comprises 162 homes across three separately gated sections, each with its own community pool and spa; the lower section, known as Senterra Elite, was designed to be the most upscale of the 3. Homes reflect a Mediterranean/Spanish architectural style, with stucco exteriors, clay tile roofs, and arched entries. 4 original floor plans were offered. Homes were originally built with 3-5 bedrooms and roughly 2.5-4 bathrooms, with several later expanded through remodeling to as many as 6 bedrooms. Living space generally ranges from about 2,300-3,700+ square feet depending on floor plan and renovation history, and lot sizes vary by section — some have been recorder around 10,400 square feet.

Senterra sits between 2 premier golf clubs, with Fairbanks Ranch Country Club along its western edge and Del Mar Country Club to the east, and many homes enjoy views of the fairways, rolling hillsides, or distant valleys. Shopping and dining are close by at Del Mar Highlands Town Center (home to a Sky Deck dining collective and a Cinepolis luxury cinema) and at One Paseo, both roughly 2 miles away, with additional retail at The Village at Pacific Highlands Ranch. Del Mar’s beaches are approximately 3.5-4 miles to the west, and Torrey Pines State Beach and Natural Reserve add nearby coastal trail access, while Los Peñasquitos Canyon Preserve offers inland hiking and biking closer to home. Commuters have quick access to both I-5 and CA-56, with Sorrento Valley about five to six miles south and downtown San Diego around 20 minutes away in light traffic. Children in Senterra typically attend Solana Santa Fe Elementary (Solana Beach School District), followed by Earl Warren Middle School and Torrey Pines High School (San Dieguito Union High School District), though exact school assignment can vary and should always be confirmed for a specific address.

Senterra is governed by a homeowners association, with dues recently reported around $592 per month covering gated entry security, common-area landscaping, and maintenance of each section’s pool and spa. Homes in Senterra have ranged from roughly $2.4M-$3M.
